For many reasons, I personally do not like Ceasar Milan's practices. He does have some decent information on his website, of which the following is good to know and share:
The following Pitties have been in the media:

-Petey from The Little Rascals.
-Tige from Buster Brown shoe advertisements.
-Jennifer Lopez used a pit bull in the music video "I'm Glad".
-The pit bull was so respected in the early 1900's that the military chose an image of a dignified pit bull to represent the country on WWI propaganda posters.
-The pit bull is the only breed to have graced the cover of Life Magazine three times.
The following is a list of some of the famous owners of Pit Bulls:
-Jon Stewart of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart owns two pit bulls: Shamsky & Monkey.
-Jessica Biel has a pit bull named Tina

-President Theodore Roosevelt
-Actor Michael J. Fox
-Actress Bernadette Peters
There are MANY others as well. It's always nice to think about the GOOD ONES though!

My baby sis has pitt's.
1They are so pretty!
They are the short barrel chested ones.
I don't know the official name...
With all things (and beings) that are feared, education is key!
Keep it up!
2Petey from the little rascals was the cutest Pit ever
3I have known some mean ones and some that are amazingly HUGE sucks. I truly believe the breeders and owners are at fault, not the animal.
4I LOVE PITTIES!!!
5Such loyal pups!
I totally agree that breeders and owners are to blame for mean pit bulls. We have a pit bull named Riley, and he is the sweetest dog we've ever had. He just wants to be petted all day. He looks intimidating, but he's such a sweetheart!
6Owners are at fault for not being honest with themselves about the temperament of the dog they own. Breeders for not weeding out the dogs who are aggressive. For as much as I love my bullies, and any bully I know, if they were to show aggression, they go. Period.
7What don't you like about Cesar Milan's methods? Too much discipline, not enough affection?
8No, no...it's a lot of the tactics that he uses that aren't based in animal behavior that I take issue in. Sadly, he claims that they are based on behavior but they really aren't. Although it sounds like it makes sense when he talks about packs, it's not all sound advice. For the most part he is self-taught and although that isn't necessarily a bad thing, there are certainly areas that he could benefit from knowing more about animal behavior from professionals. He's only famous for working with famous people's dogs, and then he takes what he believes and creates a philosophy that gets spread around the globe. Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad, but it's not all as good as it seems either.
9That is awesome I also know of a pit that was awarded a medal for his bravery in action with the military.
10Thank you for putting stuff on here about our wonderful dogs, I hope to see more postive about them on here, we need more people to realize that they are truly amazing! I have tried to find some thing here in Nebraska to work with them but i cant find any thing, I would some day like to start a pit rescue here if i every win the lottery!!
11Fair enough. My husband has a total man crush on Cesar. He likes that he teaches crazy people not to be crazy around their dogs and project their own insanity.
12It's all in how you raise them. I think all dogs are good it's up to the owners in how they end up. I've seen poddles meaner then most of the pit's I know.
13kiddylnd-- first, thanks so much for starting this terrific group! bella says "thank you" too!
with regard to cesar milan, i'm really glad that he reminds people that dogs are not people, and his work in educating the public about the wonder that is the pit bull. that said, i'd really like to hear more specifics about the dog behavior aspects that you disagree with, mainly because my husband thinks cesar hung the moon (such a man crush too *colormesticky*) but there's something about him that doesn't jive with me, and i've never been able to articulate it. i'm not suggesting an anti-cesar thread, i think he has done some good work, but i'd just like to hear more about the things that you disagree with, mainly to see if it helps to identify my own misgivings about him.
"i adore long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me"
14Thank you for posting all of this pittie information! Thank you for starting this group! It is important that people learn every aspect about this issue and not remain ignorant because they heard just one side of it. Behind a every bad dog, there's a bad owner.
15With Love,
MaRy!
